Kentucky state anti-slaughter law dies in committee! It's up to us to revive it!
Kentucky Senator Tom Buford introduced S.B. 6, which would have prohibited the slaughter of horses for human consumption, the sale or transport of live horses for the purpose of slaughtering for human consumption, and the sale of horse flesh for human consumption. The bill lacked the support to be drawn out of committee and sent to the floor for a vote.

It is up to us to revive this bill- to bring it back to life and get it passed. It is important to make it impossible for slaughterhouses to set up shop in new locations/states. This bill likely died because not enough people knew about it. Many of you who are reading this are subscribed to e-mail forums or visit regular message board forums. Please help spread the word. This bill will remain in committee for some time; there is still time to save it. Letter writing campaigns should start now.
